HRC Esperance Aged Care

Dover, Tasmania

Macquarie Builders were chosen for the construction of a major extension to Esperance Aged Care Facility in Dover, Tasmania. This project showcases superior craftsmanship, and reinforces Macquarie Builders’ reputation for delivering high-quality commercial construction.

Scope of works consisted of demolition followed by additions to the existing building, including associated landscaping and groundworks. The new development features a substantial 32 bedroom extension, featuring light-filled versatile rooms, centered around a purpose-built outdoor area for engagement, and high-end finishes throughout; the project is a fundamental senior community asset for Southern Tasmania.

This project is part of the Esperance Multipurpose Health Centre redevelopment, operated by Huon Regional Care to address occupancy demands, improve safety and accessibility, and provide efficient care  and services. The team overcame typical 1970’s construction challenges through creative methodologies, seamlessly integrating new work with complex existing geometries. Close collaboration among client, subcontractors and consultants ensured smooth execution.

The project demonstrates Macquarie Builders’ focus on delivering high-quality construction outcomes, and ability to provide essential care infrastructure while maintaining operational continuity. The project was completed in October 2024.
