Bay Vue Apartments

Sandy Bay, Tasmania

This project consisted of the development of The Bay Vue apartment complex in Sandy Bay, compromising of 14 apartments of varying size and orientation. The contract was for the structure only, compromising of basement, carpark and 4 levels of concrete structure. The designers Jaws Architects respected the scale of adjacent buildings and ensures that sunlight is not obstructed, and chose materials such as pre-cast concrete with a highly durable paint system to ensure the building ages well. Minimal disruptions were made during construction to the surrounding neighbours. Derwent Water Avenue was closed for one day to enable a crane to lift concrete panels on the site.
