Claremont Hotel Upgrade

Macquarie Builders were chosen to negotiate the major upgrade of the traditional Claremont Hotel in Greater Hobart, Tasmania. This project demanded rigorous planning, careful coordination and construction expertise to overcome the logistical challenges of building on an occupied site and necessary infrastructure.

Scope of works consisted of demolition, alterations and additions to the entry, restaurant, kitchen, lounge bar and reception area, as well as external works. It is a credit to the construction team that they have managed a complex refurbishment and extensions in a difficult working environment to create a striking, technically sophisticated and transformative new space.

The Hotel kept a significant portion of the venue open and accessible to guests while works were being completed. With a focus on the evolving demographics, the upgrade will enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experience and attract a wider range of patrons.

Challenging site constraints have been managed without impact on project quality, program or cost, indicating an exemplary level of construction proficiency. The project was completed in June 2023.
