Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre

Risdon, Tasmania

The construction of the Tasmanian Aboriginal Children’s Centre in Risdon has now been completed after 5 years in planning. We were selected to construct this much anticipated building, which was completed in September. It will provide a holistic service for Aboriginal children and their families in a culturally relevant environment, including appropriate day care activities and centre based meals.

Extensive landscaping works and children’s play areas were also completed as part of this contract. The centre runs a number of community programs to assist indigenous people including legal, health, child care, youth and dental services. Frail, at risk older persons and young persons with disabilities who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders are welcome to the centre.
